Maryann Martindale
CEO/Executive Director
After nearly 20 years of corporate marketing, communications, and public relations experience, Maryann transitioned to the nonprofit/public sector world. She has pursued her passion for policy and advocacy in various capacities including as Executive Director of the political advocacy organization, Alliance for a Better UTAH, and senior policy advisor with the Salt Lake County Council. Throughout the years, she has also brought her extensive expertise and political wonkiness to numerous political campaigns.
She graduated from the University of Utah with a B.A. in English. She is a devoted Ute football fan, an avid golfer, has a borderline unhealthy passion for professional tennis, and is a lifelong committed cat person.
Barb Muñoz, MPP
Associate Director
A nearly lifelong Utahn, Barb developed a passion for healthcare advocacy at a young age. Growing up in a family that lacked health insurance, she knew how critical access to basic health care is for the safety and security of all people. Also a born communicator (you sometimes WISH she would just stop talking, already!), she worked in radio as an on-air personality before transitioning into a career in nonprofit and public service. Eventually, her interests led her to work and education pertaining to policy and advocacy for underserved populations. She obtained a B.S. in communication and a master’s in public policy, both from the University of Utah.
Barb and her husband spend an inordinate amount of time trying to entertain their two dogs, a Great Pyrenees/lab mix, Louie, and a golden retriever, Freddie. Barb also loves hiking, music, community and church engagement, and learning your life story.
