FIND YOUR LEGISLATOR

Along with being an informed voter, engaging in local politics, and keeping track of local and national political news, developing a relationship with local lawmakers is an incredibly important part of effective advocacy.

One of the most effective ways to advocate for issues you care about is to get to know the women and men who create and pass laws in Utah. Along with being an informed voter, engaging in local politics, and keeping track of local and national political news, developing a relationship with local lawmakers is an incredibly important part of effective advocacy. We encourage you to check out the state legislative website and search for your local representative and senator using your home or work address. Once you know who those people are, look for ways to meet them either at town halls, “meet the candidate” events, local holiday celebrations (politicians LOVE parades and festivals!), or even send an email asking if you can set up a time to meet at their place of work.
