This conference aims to bring up to date information on the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes in multiple forms, including type 1 and diabetes in adolescents. We will also explore related conditions including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), obesity, and hypoglycemia in patients without diabetes and skin eruptions in diabetes mellitus (DM). A special segment will include a panel of patients with diabetes on their perspective on managing this chronic condition. Speakers will present from the perspectives of caring for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Describe medication management strategies to optimize blood sugar control.
- Use evidence-based practice to manage complications in patients with diabetes.
- Recognize unique barriers of care for patients with diabetes and describe actions to overcome these barriers in a patient-centered manner.
