Medicaid in Utah: Significant Changes Coming
Medicaid is implementing two significant changes that will impact our program in April 2023. First, they are beginning the process of “unwinding” the continuous eligibility requirement for Medicaid enrollment that has been in place through the Public Health Emergency. Second, Utah Medicaid is launching its new claims payment system, PRISM. This ten-year-long project will have a significant impact on providers through claims submission, payment, prior authorization, and more.
To help doctors prepare for these changes, RHAU is organizing a special emergency session with Jennifer Strohecker, Medical Director of the Division of Integrated Health at the Utah Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Strohecker will provide more information about these changes and will host a Question and Answer session following her short presentation.
