St. Mark's Family Medicine Residency

St. Mark's Family Medicine Residency is an innovative, state-of-the-art Family Medicine training program located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our unique program features Clinic Every Day, where residents see their own patients in the Family Medicine Center five days per week. Being a community-based program (not university or corporate affiliated) with only four residents per year allows close interaction with the faculty and community physicians.

The Utah HealthCare Institute, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is proud to be the programs institutional sponsor. While the residency program bears the St. Mark's name and works cooperatively with St. Mark's Hospital, it operates independently of any corporate or religious entity. The Institute is dedicated to improving the health and wellness of our community through graduate medical education and providing quality health care. Hospital rotations are held at St. Mark's Hospital and Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Clinic Every Day™

Our fully ACGME-accredited program is unique in that residents have their own Clinic Every Day. This allows patients to see their doctor 90% of the time, compared to the 50% continuity most residency programs have. This model allows residents to treat a breadth of common primary care problems, connect with their patients and families, and learn to manage an increasing patient load efficiently. Our residents are highly skilled clinicians that find it easy to transition into a variety of practices and fellowships after residency.
