UAFP has established a program that will provide financial assistance for family medicine residents in Utah considering employment opportunities in the state.

UAFP has been partnering with local attorney Michael Blackburn who has been reviewing employment contracts for new physicians for several years in Utah. If you choose to utilize Michael Blackburn’s services, UAFP will pay the negotiated rate of $200 directly to Mr. Blackburn on your behalf. If you choose to work with your own attorney, UAFP will reimburse you for up to $200 of the cost of an employment contract review. Simply meet with the attorney of your choice and provide us with a copy of the paid invoice and we will reimburse you directly.

Please note that this program is only for family medicine residents currently employed at one our five FM residencies who are considering an employment opportunity in the Utah. Please submit request for employment contract below.

Money Matters for Students & Residents

Sara Walker, MD, MS

When Dr. Walker was a fourth-year medical student, she realized that she didn't know very much about personal finance. She started devouring as much content as possible through books, blogs, and online courses. Wanting to share that hard-earned knowledge in a straightforward, immediately applicable format that is specifically geared towards the needs of residents and medical students, she developed a course during her residency.

She has won national and regional awards for her efforts and is looking forward to achieving her next goal - helping YOU reach your (financial) dreams!
