Member of the Week: Dr. Darlene Petersen

Practice: I am a partner with Revere Health in a solo practice in Roy where I provide family and addiction medicine services.

Residency: St. Mark’s Family Medicine Residency

Any additional training or fellowships? In 2012 I became board certified in Addiction Medicine

A bit about Dr. Petersen: Moved to Utah when I was young and grew up in Kaysville. Most of my family is still in the area. My husband is a 2nd grade teacher and we have one daughter who is an Engineering student at USU. I enjoy reading (I belong to 2 book clubs), hiking, biking, kayaking. Last year I started a podcast The AddictionFiles with my colleague Paula Cook, MD and it has been so much fun.

What do you wish you’d known when you graduated from medical school? How long it would take me to pay it off.

What keeps you passionate about family medicine? Being able to watch my patients overcome so much to reclaim their lives as they go through the recovery process.

Where will we find you on your day off? Hiking or kayaking with my husband and daughter or cruising along on my e-bike, Also, recording and/or editing podcast episodes.
