Member of the Month – July: Erika Noonan

Practice: I run a small clinic called Healthspan Utah that focuses on primary care, prevention, hormone health, and personalized care. It’s a membership model that allows me to spend real time with my patients and work on long-term goals like energy, longevity, and feeling good in your body again. My practice is located in Heber City, but I have patients from all over the state of Utah.

Residency: Utah Valley Family Medicine Residency

Any additional fellowships or training? Geriatric Medicine fellowship at the University of Utah and a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona.

A bit about Dr. Noonan: I was born and raised in Salt Lake City and have stayed pretty loyal to Utah ever since—minus a few years in St. Louis for medical school. I earned my degree in Nutrition Science at Utah State, went to med school at Saint Louis University, and came back to Utah for both residency and a geriatrics fellowship. These days, I’m a physician, entrepreneur, and health educator. I run my own clinic, but I also spend a lot of time on social media teaching about midlife health, hormones, and how to advocate for yourself in a broken healthcare system. I also am passionate about teaching future physicians and have been faculty at Noorda COM for several years. I have three kids who keep me grounded and remind me why the work matters. And I’m very much in a season of “working on it” when it comes to work-life balance and self-care.

What do you wish you’d known when you graduated from medical school? You can carve your own path in medicine, and it’s okay if it doesn’t look like everyone else’s.

What keeps you passionate about family medicine? The genuine patient interactions and learning about humans. People and community make life rewarding and worth while. Studying humans, I argue the most complex creature on earth, is a fun and exciting field of knowledge.

Where will we find you on your day off? Well, days off are hard to come by when growing a new practice 🙂
