Hometown: Belmont, North Carolina

Best thing about Utah? Utah is such a beautiful state and I love the opportunity I have to be outside and explore my new home. The hiking and skiing are amazing and I love finding new hobbies while in medical school!

Favorite way to de-stress: Exercise is a necessity for me to de-stress and is a great way for me to take care of myself while I get a break from studying.

Fun fact: I played softball during undergraduate at the University of North Carolina.

Why family medicine? I love all of the opportunities that family medicine provides and the diversity I can have throughout my a career as a family medicine physician. I am very passionate about preventative healthcare and want to be able to provide my patients with the tools to succeed and lead healthier lifestyles. Family medicine also offers me the opportunity to care for the entire family unit and generate lasting relationships as I care for all members of the community. I am also an HPSP student so I plan to spend my first 4 years out of medical school as a family medicine physician for the US Navy.
