Resident and Med School Student Scholarships Available for Family Medicine Advocacy Summit
Take an active role in shaping family medicine’s future when you come together with peers at the AAFP Family Medicine Advocacy Summit (FMAS), taking place Sunday-Tuesday, June 22-24, 2025. Whether you’re a first-time attendee or an advanced advocate, you’ll learn tactics for being a specialty champion. Plus, you’ll flex your skills when you lobby directly with members of Congress to influence public policies that affect your patients and practice.
Scholarships for FMAS are available for student and resident attendees from the AAFP and the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD). The AAFP awards scholarships to two students and two residents. Scholarships will include reimbursement for travel to and from Washington, DC; hotel accommodations; and registration fees. The AAFP’s deadline to apply is Friday, February 14. The AFMRD provides scholarships for at least 16 family medicine residents which reimburse recipients up to $2,500 for approved FMAS travel, lodging, meals, and registration expenses. The AFMRD’s deadline to apply is Friday, February 28.
