Celebrating Utah’s Future Family Physicians: Meet the Inaugural You Belong in Family Medicine Scholarship Recipients
The Utah Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (UAFP Foundation) is proud to announce the inaugural recipients of the You Belong in Family Medicine Scholarship, a program created to bridge the gap between medical school and residency while strengthening Utah’s future Family Medicine workforce.
This year’s scholarship recipients are Sarah Dale, who matched into the Community Health Center Family Medicine Residency, and Madison Marquette, who matched into the Utah Valley Family Medicine Residency.

Chosen through a competitive review process, both recipients demonstrated outstanding dedication to Family Medicine, leadership in medical school, service to their communities, and a strong commitment to providing community-based primary care.
Sarah Dale shared, “I am deeply honored to receive the You Belong in Family Medicine Scholarship from the UAFP as I transition into residency. This support affirms my commitment to providing compassionate, community-centered care and investing in the long-term health of the patients and families I will serve. I am grateful to continue my training in the place I call home and give back to the community that shaped me.”
Madison Marquette added, “Receiving this scholarship is a tremendous honor as I transition from Louisiana to Utah for residency training. I have already fallen in love with the people and the sense of community in Utah, and I am excited to give back through patient care. This scholarship eases the financial burden of moving and supports my passion for caring for patients across every stage of life.”
Each scholarship award supports these future family physicians as they begin residency and continue their journey toward improving access to quality healthcare throughout Utah.
The UAFP Foundation congratulates Drs. Dale and Marquette on this significant achievement and looks forward to their lasting impact on Family Medicine in Utah.
