Child Care Licensing Committee Recruitment
The Utah Department of Health is seeking physician representation on two state Child Care Licensing Committees: the Residential Child Care Licensing Advisory Committee and the Child Care Center Licensing Committee. The committees are an opportunity for clinicians to assist the Utah Department of Health in maintaining high quality child care delivery while gaining knowledge into child care issues. There are legislative changes coming to Child Care laws in this legislature and there needs to be strong pediatric voices supporting the implementation of any changes.
These committees ensure physician input into Child Care Licensing rules and issues necessary to protect qualifying children’s common needs for a safe and healthy environment. The committees meet every other month in a morning session. UDOH is looking for 1-2 additional physicians to join them. Sessions are currently virtual, and they anticipate that will remain an option going forward post-pandemic.
Physicians can apply to either committee and would be obligated about two hours every other month on average.
