Member of the Week: Dr. Brinton Woods

Practice: Currently in practice at the Intermountain Healthcare Kaysville Creekside Clinic

Residency: Brown University – Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island

A bit about Dr. Woods: I grew up in Taylorsville, Utah. Went to college at the University of Utah and medical school at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. Married to my wife (Becky) for 20yrs, and have 4 children ages 5-18. In my free time I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing, Jeeping, traveling and spending time with family.

What keeps you passionate about family medicine? It’s a field with such variety. I enjoy chronic disease management, preventive care, and office procedures; as well as acute visits. There’s rarely a day that I’m bored or feel unchallenged in this field.

What do you wish you’d known when graduating from med school? I wish I had been taught a little bit about practice management, how to work efficiently etc. And how to maintain a good professional and personal life balance as a physician. I have since learned those things, but it might have been nice to to learn about them early on.

Where will we find you on your day off? Whenever possible, I sneak away to Moab, UT.

What are you…
